ABOUT EF1400

The EF1400 pressure safety valve is a flanged, spring-loaded valve designed for overpressure protection in industrial process systems handling steam, gases, vapours and liquids.

Designed according to EN 4126-1/7 and EN 12516-1, the EF1400 is available in pressure ratings from PN16 to PN100 and sizes from DN15 to DN400 (1/2” to 16”). Testing requirements include API 527 and MSS-SP-55 where applicable.

Published body materials include carbon steel 1.0619 and stainless steel 1.4409, with Duplex and Super Duplex available on request. The published temperature range is -28°C to +350°C, subject to the selected material and configuration.

The EF1400 is available with EN 1092 flanged connections and RF, BW or SW end executions. Final selection must be based on set pressure, relieving capacity, fluid properties, temperature, backpressure, flange rating and project requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

The EF1400 is a spring-loaded pressure safety valve designed for overpressure protection in industrial process systems. It is suitable for applications involving steam, gases, vapours and liquids, subject to the applicable pressure, temperature, material and sizing requirements.
The minimum set pressure is approximately 0.2 barg, depending on the selected configuration and application.
The EF1400 is available in PN16, PN25, PN40, PN63 and PN100, depending on the selected size, material and configuration.
The EF1400 is designed according to EN 4126-1/7 and EN 12516-1, with testing requirements including API 527 and MSS-SP-55 where applicable. The exact applicable standard scope should be confirmed for the selected configuration.
An EN safety valve follows a European-oriented design and pressure-rating framework based on standards such as EN ISO 4126 and EN 12516. API 526 safety valves use a different standardized size, pressure class and orifice system. The correct platform depends on the applicable project specification, piping standard and sizing requirements.
The published EF1400 material options include carbon steel 1.0619 and stainless steel 1.4409. Duplex and Super Duplex can also be considered on request. Material selection should be based on the process fluid, temperature, corrosion conditions and project specification.
The published EF1400 temperature range is approximately -28°C to +350°C, depending on the selected material and configuration. The final allowable temperature should be confirmed for the selected execution.
The EF1400 is available with flanged EN 1092 connections and RF, BW or SW end executions. The exact size, pressure rating and connection execution should be confirmed against the selected valve configuration and project requirements.
Yes. Steam is included in the published EF1400 service scope. Final selection should consider set pressure, relieving capacity, temperature, backpressure and the applicable design requirements.
Yes. The EF1400 can be used for gas and vapour overpressure-protection duties where the selected configuration is compatible with the actual process conditions.
Yes. Liquid service is included in the EF1400 application scope. The required relieving capacity, fluid properties, pressure and temperature should be defined for final sizing.
Yes. The EF1400 can be considered for overpressure protection of pressure vessels, pipelines, process equipment and industrial systems where the applicable pressure, temperature, material and relieving requirements fall within the valve range.
Yes. It can be considered where downstream equipment requires protection against a credible overpressure scenario caused by failure or malfunction of a pressure-reducing system. The required relief case and relieving capacity must be established from the actual process conditions before final selection.
No. A safety valve should be selected according to the required relieving capacity and process conditions, not simply by matching the pipeline diameter.
Typical values are 10% overpressure for steam, gas and vapour and approximately 7% blowdown, depending on the service conditions and applicable requirements.
Typical information includes: - Set pressure - Required relieving capacity - Fluid - Relieving pressure - Relieving temperature - Backpressure - Fluid properties, where applicable - Applicable design code - Inlet and outlet connection requirements These data are required to review the correct valve size and configuration.
Delivery time depends on the selected size, material, pressure rating, configuration and project requirements. Specific materials, large sizes, inspection or documentation requirements may require additional manufacturing time.
Yes. Inspection and testing can be arranged according to the agreed project scope, together with the applicable technical documentation and certification. EFSVALVES can also support export packaging, logistics and international delivery coordination.
Yes. EFSVALVES can support valve selection, sizing and configuration so that the proposed EF1400 matches the process data and applicable project requirements.
Yes. The EF1400 can be considered for EPC and project-managed applications where sizing conditions, materials, pressure rating, flange requirements, inspection and documentation requirements are defined during the RFQ stage. The final configuration should be confirmed against the project specification and actual process conditions.
