What is valve automation?

Valve automation combines a valve with an electric or pneumatic actuator and the controls or accessories required for remote or automatic operation. Selection starts with the valve movement, operating duty, available electrical power or instrument air and the required control or fail-safe function. For selected manual duties, a mechanical spring-return lever can provide a defined return action without powered actuation.
