The EFM1 is a self-operated, bellows-sealed pressure reducing valve for stable downstream pressure control in steam, compressed air, neutral gas and liquid systems. It uses process pressure and an adjustable spring and diaphragm system, without requiring an external actuator or control system.
Available from DN15 to DN150, the EFM1 can be supplied with DIN or ANSI flanged connections or BSP/NPT threaded ends. Published body materials are A216 WCB carbon steel and A351 CF3M stainless steel, with stainless steel trim as standard.
The valve provides quick response to changing demand and stable downstream regulation when correctly sized. For steam or fluids above 125°C, the published configuration requires a condensation tank to protect the pressure-control system. A control-line kit for external pressure tapping, reduced Kv/Cv trims, special trim materials and stainless steel actuator casing are available as options.
Final selection should be based on the fluid, inlet pressure, required downstream pressure, minimum and maximum flow, operating temperature, connection and pressure rating. A complete steam pressure reducing station should also consider filtration, pressure indication, isolation, condensate management and downstream overpressure protection.
